 When a product of a chemical reaction is obtained in the form of a precipitate (insoluble substance), then that reaction is called as precipitation reaction.

In this reaction, the product silver chloride is obtained as a precipitate.

In this reaction, the product barium sulphate is obtained as a precipitate.
