f(x) = (x – 3)2 + 1

y = (x – 3)2 + 1

⇒ (x – 3)2 = y – 1

 ⇒ x = \(\sqrt{y-1} + 3\)

∴ f-1(x) = \(\sqrt{x-1} + 3\)
