1. f(x) – |x| and g(x) – |3x + 4|

2. f(x) = 16x4 and g(x) = x\(\frac{1}{4}\)

1. Given;

 f(x) = |x| and g(x) = |3x + 4|

fog(x) = f(g(x))

= f(|3x + 4|) = ||3x + 4|| = |3x + 4|

gof(x) = g(f(x)) = g(|x|) = |3|x| + 4|

2. fog(x) = f(g(x)) = g(x1/4) = 16(x1/4)4 = x

gof (x) = g(f(x)) = g(16x4) = (16x4)1/4 = 4x.
