Best answer

1.  ∫\(\frac{1}{x^2+a^2}dx\) = 1/a tan-1 x/a + c.

2. 3x + 1 = A \(\frac{d}{dx}\)(2x2 – 2x + 3) + B

= A(4x – 2) + B

3 = 4A; A = 3/4

1 = -2A + B

1 = -3/2 + B, B = 1 + 3/2 = 5/2

∴ 3x + 1 = 3/4(4x – 2) + 5/2
