The minute hand of a clock is 10 cm long. Find the area of the face of the clock described by the minute hand between 8 AM and 8.25 AM.

Given, 

Length of minute hand = 10 cm 

Angle subtend by minute hand in 25 minute (8-8.25) = 25 × 6 = 150° 

So, 

Area described by minute hand between (8 - 8.25) = \(\frac{θ}{360}\timesπr^2\)

\(\frac{150}{360}\times\frac{22}7\) x 10 x 10

= 130.95 cm2
