Best answer

Let A be the area of the triangle formed by the points (− 4, − 1), (1, 2) and (4, − 3).

∴ A = \(\frac{1}{2}\)|{x1(y- y3) + x2(y- y1) + x3(y- y2)}|

⇒ A = \(\frac{1}{2}\)|{-4(2 + 3)+ 1(-3 + 1)+ 4(-1 - 2)}|

⇒ A = 17
