(a) Human body contains 206 bones. Femur is the largest bone and stapes is the smallest bone.
(b) Replacing bones are formed by ossification in cartilages , e.g., humerus, femur.
Sesamoid bones, are formed by ossification in the tendons at the joints, e.g., patella.
