अनुप्रस्थ तरंग का वेग `upsilon = sqrt(T/(mu))`
जहाँ, `T =` रस्सी में तनाव `= 200` न्यूटन
`mu =` एकांक लम्बाई में तनाव
`= ("द्रव्यमान")/("दूरी") = (250)/(20)`
`= 0.125` किग्रा/मीटर
`:. upsilon = sqrt((200)/(0.125)) = sqrt(1600)`
`= 40` मीटर/सेकण्ड
अन्य सिरे तक विक्षोभ के पहुँचने में लगा समय
`t = l/upsilon = (20)/(40) = 0.50` सेकण्ड
