In `C_(4) ` plants, PEP carboxylase (PEP case) fixes `CO_(2)` concentration in the mesophyll cells. In bundle sheath cells, `CO_(2)` concentration is moer, so that RUBISCO functions as carboxylase and photorespiration is avoided.
