Given, A(1, 0), B(2, 3) Slope of AB = 3-0/ 2-1 = 3

Required line is perpendicular to AB.

Slope of required line = -1/3

Let point C divide AB in the ratio 1 : 2.

Required line passes through (4/3, 1) and has slope = -1/3

Equation of the line in slope point form is y – y = m(x – x )

The equation of the required line is y-1 = -1/3 (x- 4/3)

⇒ 3(y – 1) = -1 (x - 4/3)

⇒ 3y – 3 = -x + 4/3

⇒ 9y – 9 = -3x + 4

⇒ 3x + 9y = 13
