1. Gypsum plaster (or) Plaster of Paris (POP) is produced by heating gypsum to about 300°F.

2. A large gypsum deposit is found at Montmartre in Paris (France). 

3. This gave the name Plaster of Paris to calcium sulphate hemihydrates. 

4. The term plaster can refer to gypsum.
