Correct Answer - Option 1 : 15

Given

A boy has few coins in denominations of 50 paise, 25 paise and 10 paise in the ratio 1 : 2 : 3. If the total amount of coins is Rs.6.50

Concept used

Ratio and proportion

Calculation

Let the ratio of coins be x : 2x and 3x

50 paise = 1/2 rupee

25 paise = 1/4 rupee

10 paise = 1/10 rupee

As per the question,

⇒ \(\frac{x}{2} + \frac{x}{2} + \frac{{3x}}{{10}} = \frac{{650}}{{100}}\)

⇒ \(\frac{{5x + 5x + 3x}}{{10}} = \frac{{650}}{{100}}\)

⇒ 13x = 65

⇒ x = 5

Number of 10 paise coins

⇒ 3x = 3 × 5 = 15
