Correct Answer - Option 1 : 50

Given:

The number of students that appeared from school A is 20% more than the number of students that appeared from school B.

The total number of students that passed from both schools is 80% more than the number of students that passed from school B.

Calculation:

Let be the number of students who appeared in the examination from school B is 100.

According to the question the number of students who appeared in the examination from school A = 120% of 100

⇒ 120

Number of students passed from school B  = 100 × (75/100)

⇒ 75

Total number of students passed in school A and school B = 75 × (180/100)

⇒ 135

The number of students passed in school A = 135 – 75

⇒ 60

The number of students passed in school A percentage = (students pass in school A)/(Total students appeared in school A)

⇒ (60/120) × 100

⇒ 50%

The percentage of students that passed from school A to those who appeared from school A is 50%.
