Correct Answer - Option 4 : Pearl

The correct answer is Pearl.

  • Silk is a natural protein fibre produced by the larvae of certain specific insects like caterpillars or moths.
  • Honey is a sweet syrupy substance produced by honeybees from the nectar of flowers. When most of the water has evaporated from the honeycomb, the bee seals the comb with a secretion of liquid from its abdomen, which eventually hardens into beeswax.
  • Lac is a natural resin of animal origin. It is secreted by an insect, known as lac-insect In order to obtain lac, these insects are cultured and the technique is called lac-culture.
  • The formation of a natural pearl-
    • It begins when a foreign substance slips into the oyster between the mantle and the shell, which irritates the mantle.
    • It's kind of like the oyster getting a splinter.
    • The oyster's natural reaction is to cover up that irritant to protect itself.
    • The mantle covers the irritant with layers of the same nacre substance that is used to create the shell.
    • This eventually forms a pearl.
