Correct Answer - Option 3 : 40

Given,

Father will be only thrice as old as the son after 5 years.

Calculation,

Let the age of the son be x years.

Age of the father be (x + 30) years,

According to the question,

Son age after 5 years,

x + 30 + 5 = 3 (x + 5)

x + 35 = 3x + 15

2x = 20

x = 10.

The age of his father will be (x + 30).

10 + 30.

40 years.

Hence, the correct answer is "40".
