Ghunyat-ul Munyah

  • The Ġunyat al-munya is a treatise on Indian music composed in Gujarat in 776/1374-75. 
  • The name of the author is not known. It was written at the request of the governor of Gujarat Malik Šams al-Dīn Ibrāhim Ḥasan Abū Rajā. 
  • It is divided into two parts (qism). The first is on the song (surūd) and musical instruments (mazāmir), and the second is on dance (raqs) and on the rules to be followed during the musical assembly (šarā’iṭ-i ādāb-i majlis). 

Fatawa-i Jahandari

  • Fatawa-i-Jahandari was written by Ziya-ud-din Barani
  • It is a work containing the political ideals to be pursued by a Muslim ruler in order to earn religious merit and the gratitude of his subjects.
  • It influenced by Sufī mysticism, he expounded a religious philosophy of history that viewed the events in the lives of great men as manifestations of divine providence. 

Adab-ul Harb wa Shujaat

  • It is a treatise in a straightforward Persian prose style in the “Mirror for Princes” genre.
  • It is dedicated to Sultan Iltutmuš and seems to have been written in Muslim India, probably in Lahore or Delhi. 
  • It is a treatise on statecraft and kingship and also, in a somewhat theoretical and idealized manner, on the art of war. 
  • The early chapters deal with such topics as the royal virtues and the choice of trustworthy ministers; the main part of the book then deals with such military topics as choosing horses and weapons, deployment of forces, and tactics on the battlefield.

Khazain-ul Futuh

  • In this book, Amir describes the south campaign of Alauddin Khilji and Mongol invasion in India.
  • Amir Khusrau was a prolific classical poet associated with the royal courts of more than seven rulers of the Delhi Sultanate.
