Given: 2x+1 = 31-x

log 2x+1 = log 31-x 

(x + 1) log 2 = (1 – x) log 3 

x log 2 + log 2 = log 3 – x log 3 

x log 2 + x log 3 = log 3 – log 2 

x (log 3 + log 2) = log 3 – log 2
