Best answer

Formation of Barium Sulphate precipitate

  • Take about 100 ml of water in a beaker.
  • Dissolve a small quantity of sodium sulphate (Na2SO4) in it.
  • Take about 100 ml of water in another beaker.
  • Dissolve a small quantity of barium chloride (BaCl2) in it.
  • Add these (Na2SO4 , BaCl2 ) two solutions.
  • We will get a white precipitate of barium sulphate. Na2SO4 + BaCl2 → BaSO4↓ + 2NaCl
  • It is a double displacement reaction.
