i)(-2) – (+1) 

ii) (-270) – (-270) 

iii) (1000) – (-1000)

i) -2 – (+1)

= -2 -1 = -3 

ii) – 270 – (-270)

= -270 + 270 [∵ -(-a) = a] 

= 0 [-a + a = 0] 

iii) 1000 – (-1000)

= 1000 + 1000 [∵ -(-a) = a] 

= 2000
