When Father Brown visited a restaurant, he changed the bowls of salt and sugar. Then he splashed soup on the wall. He increased the amount on the bill and broke the window. While visiting a market shop, he upset the apples, changed the labels of orange and nuts. All this he did very smartly so as to leave clues for the trail-follower.
