 Habits: It is the fastest animal on the earth. Its top speed can be around 100 km per hour. But it can maintain this speed for a very short distance. Sometimes it can take a leap as long as 25 metres. It creeps silently behind the prey and then leaps up to catch it. It does not preserve its prey. This sometimes causes death of cubs and young cheetah. The cheetah is a solitary creature. It does not live-in groups or herds. A family separates as soon as the cubs are mature.
