Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that are passed from one person to another through sexual contact. The causes of STDs are bacteria, parasites, yeast, and viruses.

Example: chlamydia, HIV/AIDS, HPV, Genital herpes etc.

Some of the ways to prevent Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are as follows:

(a) Being faithful to one’s life partner. 

(b) Avoid sexual contact with unknown person.

(c) Using condom during sexual intercourse. 

(d) Maintaining personal hygiene.

(a) These are infectious diseases transmitted during sexual contact.
(b) They may be bacterial like or viral like.
(c) Use of mechanical barrier like condom prevents transmission of infection.
