Explain briefly about the Mesozoic era?

The Mesozoic era is otherwise known as the golden age of reptiles.

This era is divided into three periods as follows:

1. Triassic: Origin of egg-laying mammals.
2. Jurassic: Dinosaurs were dominant and the fossil bird -Archaeopteryx was present on earth.
3. Cretaceous: Extinction of toothed birds and dinosaurs, the emergence of modem birds occur.
