Ag2 \(\xrightarrow{Ignition}\) 2Ag

On applying POAV on Ag(silver)

2 x \(\frac{0.456}{M_x +\ 2\ \times108}\) = \(\frac{0.324}{108}\) x 1

Where Mx = molecular weight of anion of dibasic acid.

∴ Mx + (2 x 108) = \(\frac{2\ \times\ 0.456\ \times\ 108}{0.324}\)

Mx + 216 = 304

Mx = 304 - 216

Mx = 88

∴ The molecular weight of acid (H2X) = Mx + 2H

= 88 + 2

= 90 g/mol
