The x-intercept refers to the place where the line crosses the x-axis.  At the x-intercept, the value of y is zero.  So let's put in zero for y into the given equation:

2x - (3)(0) = 6   => 2x = 6

=> x = 3.

So the x-intercept is at the point:   (3,0)
