When 2 Amp current is passed through a tangent galvanometer. It gives a deflection of 30°. For 60° deflection, the current must be

The correct option (d) 6 Amp

Explanation:

For tangent galvanometer, I ∝ tanɸ

∴  (I2/I1) = [(tanɸ2)/(tanɸ1)]

∴  (I2/2) = [(tan60)/(tan30)]

∴ I2 = 2 × [√3/ (1/√3)] = 2 × 3 = 6A
