Read the assertion and reason carefully to mark the correct option out of the options given below.

(A) If both assertion and reason are true and the reason is the correct explanation of the assertion.

(B) If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of the assertion,

(C) If assertion is true but reason is false.

(D) If the assertion and reason both the false.

(E) If assertion is false but reason is true.

Best answer

The correct option (A) If both assertion and reason are true and the reason is the correct explanation of the assertion.

Explanation:

Cyclone is a device used to accelerate the ions. and frequency is f = [eB/(2πm)] as mass of electron is very small, e will pick up high speed comparable to speed of life called as relativistic speed at which mass is not constant but varies with relation m = [m0/√{1 – (V2 + C2)}]

as per equation, as speed increases, relativistic mass increases and frequency of revolution will be changed. The acceleration will be stop, hence cyclotron does not accelerate electron.

Both statements are true with reason correct explanation of assertion.
