The number of gold rings can be made = 70

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Total length of gold wire = 8.8m

The radius of the gold ring = 2cm

To find,

The number of gold rings can be made

Perimeter of a circle= 2πr, where 'r' is the radius of the circle.

The length of the gold wire is required to make one gold ring = perimeter of the gold ring.

Since the radius of the gold ring = 2cm, the perimeter of the gold ring

= 2 × π × 2

= 4πcm

The perimeter of one gold ring =  4πcm

Length of the gold wire = 8.8m = 8.8 × 100cm = 880cm

Number of gold rings can be made = \(\frac{880}{4π}\)

\(\frac{880\times7}{4\times22}\)

= 70

∴ The number of gold rings can be made = 70
