According to coulomb' s law,

\(F=\frac{1}{4\piε_0}.\frac{q_1q_2}{r^ 2}\)

\(F ∝\frac{1}{r^ 2}\)

Hence, r is doubled, then force between the two electric charges reduces to quarter.
