(a) Live wire-red, Earth wire-green, Neutral wire-black
Electric supply or connections made in our home have three wires:
Live wire: The live wire carries current to the appliances at a high voltage. It is generally in red colour.
Neutral wire: The neutral wire is the wire that carries current back from the appliance. It is generally black or brown in colour.
Earth wire: It carries no current generally. However, it is used to protect from an electric shock by providing a path for the faulty current to flow to the earth. It is generally green in colour or a mix of green and yellow.
