Best answer

(c) Either longitudinal or transverse

Longitudinal waves can be transmitted through solid, liquid and gases because for propagation of these waves, volume elasticity is necessary.

Transverse waves can be transmitted through solids; they can be setup on the surface of liquids. But they cannot be transmitted into liquids and gases. Therefore, either longitudinal or transverse types of sound waves can propagates in solids.
