One pair of opposite sides of a parallelogram measures (x – 4) cm and (20 – x) cm and one side out of the other pair of opposite sides measures (x – 6) cm. What is the perimeter of the parallelogram ?

A parallelogram is a special type of quadrilateral that has both pairs of opposite sides parallel and equal.

Therefore x-4 = 20-x  => x = 12

So two of the sides of the parallelogram are: x - 4 = 12 - 4 = 8cm

And the other two sides of the parallelogram are: x - 6 = 12 - 6 = 6cm

Then the perimeter of the parallelogram is: 8 + 8 + 6 + 6 = 28cm
