(b) 7.35 - 7.45
The pH of human blood is between 7.35 - 7.45.
The pH scale, or the acid-base scale, runs from 0 to 14. It tests how acidic a
solution of water is to a substance.
Low pH solutions have a high hydrogen ion concentration and are acidic. High-pH solutions have a lower hydrogen ion concentration and are alkaline, or basic.
To function well, the pH of blood in the arteries should be between 7.35 and 7.45 for the metabolic processes of the body and other systems.
These processes generate acids so that the body has complex feedback and regulatory mechanism to maintain stable pH levels.
