Liquid benzene burns in oxygen according to following equation.

2 C6H6 (l) + 15 O2 (g) → 12 CO2 (g) + 6H2O (g)

How many litres of oxygen are required for complete combustion of 39 gram of liquid benzene?

Correct option is (d) 84

Moles of O2 required to burn 39 g benzene = \(\frac{15 \times 39}{2 \times 78} = \frac{15}4\)

Volume of CO2 required = \(\frac{15}4\)x 22.4 = 84 L (STP)
