(b) fructose
Fructose is the sweetest naturally occurring sugar, estimated to be twice as sweet as sucrose. Fructose is also derived from the digestion of sucrose, a disaccharide consisting of glucose and fructose that is broken down by glycoside hydrolase enzymes during digestion.
