Search results for a person invested a part of $6500 at 10% simple interest and the rest of it at 12% simple interest. At the end of 3 years, the investor got a total amount of $8690. How much money was invested at different rates

Let A be the amount invested at 10%, and B be the amount invested at 12%.

Then using the following: 

A x 1.13 + B x 1.123 = $8690     and     A + B = $6500

We get that approximately $5979 was invested at 10% and approximately $521 was invested at 12%.
