Initial velocity u = 72 kmph = \(72 \times \frac {5}{18}= 20\,m/s\)

Acceleration a = −0.2ms-1, Final velocity v = 0

We know v2 - u2 = 2as

⇒ (0)2 - (20)2 = 2(- 0.2) x s

s = 1000 m ⇒ s = 1 km
