Well, for preparing upsc exam NCERT is essential .
To read ncert book is not a big deal if u follow these points:
- Take a fast reading to the chapter and underline it .
- U should underline the important dates or events with highlighter not with the pencil or pen.
- Read ncert multiple times , in each and every time u will get updated to different concepts and new words . So dont ignore.
- It is nearly impossible to revise ncert book from class 6 to 12 just before the exam . so try to summarize the whole chapter in a 2-3 pages of a white sheet of paper.
- Be careful, don't write the things which u know well only write those points which u will forget during the exam. Use ur time wisely in note making.
- Most important dont forget to solve previous year question. From these only u will realise the importance of ncert line and also get a idea what is important or what is not.
- To remember any thing , stick hand made ncert key points on your wall and see daily .
