Suppose an insect is at a point A(x1, y1, z1) at t = t1. It reaches at point B(x2, y2, z2) at t = t2 through path ACB with respect to the frame shown in fig. The actual length of curved path ACB is the distance travelled by the insect in time Δt = t2 - t1.
