The perpendicular drawn from the origin to the line y = mx + c meets it at the point (- 1, 2). Find the values of m and c.

Given line is y = mx + c ……………. (1) 

∵ the point P(-1, 2) lies on (1), then 2 = m(-1) + c 

⇒ 2 = – m + c ……………. (2) 

Slope of (1) = m and
