Best answer

Copper is more reactive than silver therefore, when a copper coin is kept immersed in silver nitrate solution, then :

(i) A shining white deposit of silver metal is formed on the copper coin.

(ii) The colour of solution changes to blue due to the formation of copper nitrate solution.

Reaction involved

Cu(s) + 2AgNO3(aq) → Cu(NO3)2(aq) + 2Ag(s)

The grey solid crystal of Ag metal are seen growing on the copper coin and solution turns blue in colour.
