Let us consider number of friends joined in a group be ‘x’ friends

No. of friends	3	x
Time (days)	30	18

We know k = xy

3 × 30 = x × 18

x = (3×30)/18

= 5

Joined friends = 5 – 3 = 2

∴ 2 new members joined the group.
