Sri Aurobindo’s poem ‘The Tiger and the Deer” is a didactic poem. Through the anecdote of the tiger and the deer, the poet not only reveals the contrast lying in the forests but also conveys an inspiring message. It is the poet’s conviction that sufferings are not eternal. In spite of death and devastation, life is something to be enjoyed. Though the evil seems to be winning in the beginning, it is the good that survives. The brute force meets its brute end while the innocent and serence continue to be appreciated upto the last.
कवि अरबिन्द की कविता “The Tiger and the Deer” एक शिक्षात्मक कविता है। चीते और हिरन की छोटी सी कहानी के माध्यम से कवि जंगलों में व्याप्त विरोधामास को ही नहीं उजागर करता बल्कि एक प्रेरणादायक संदेश भी देता है। कवि का यह विश्वास है कि कष्ट स्थायी नहीं होते। मृत्यु और विनाश के बावजूद जीवन आनन्ददायी है। यद्यपि बुराई शुरू में जीतती दिखाई देती है लेकिन यह केवल अच्छाई ही है जो जीवित रहती है। निर्दयी शक्ति का निर्दयी अन्त होता है जबकि निर्दोष और शान्त की अंत तक प्रशंसा होती रहती है।
