(ii) cot θ – tan θ = (1 - 2sin²θ)/sinθcosθ

(i) LHS = (sin⁴θ - cos⁴θ)/(sin²θ - cos²θ)

= 1

= R.H.S.

(ii) LHS = cot θ – tan θ

= (1 - 2sin²θ)/sinθcosθ

= R.H.S.
