Difference between displacement and double displacement reactions:

Displacement reaction Double displacement reaction
i. Displacement reaction is a reaction in which one element displaces other element from its compound and takes its place therein.
 
Double displacement reaction is a reaction in which there is an exchange of ions between the reactants take place.
ii. For example:
Fe + CuSO→ FeSO+ Cu
For example:
When barium chloride solution is mixed with copper sulphate, the products formed:
BaCl2 + CuSO4 → BaSO4 + NaCl
