What do you mean by ionic bond?

Ionic Bond is a type of chemical bond which exists between two oppositely charged species and the bond is mainly formed between electron donor element and electron acceptor element. 

Example- NaCl, KBr etc. 

In example of NaCl, Sodium atom donate one electron to chlorine atom to form ionic bond.
