Correct Answer - Option 4 : B

Given:

Suman invests 5 times that of Sakshi

Sakshi invests 3/5 of Mayank's investment.

Total profit was Rs.23,000

Concept used:

Ratio of investment by all three is equal to the profit ratio distributed by them

Calculation:

Investment ratio of Suman and Sakshi is 5 : 1

Investment ratio of Sakshi and Mayank = 3 : 5

⇒ Suman : Sakshi = 5 : 1

⇒ Sakshi : Mayank = 3 : 5

Equating Sakshi's ratio in both the cases,

⇒ Suman : Sakshi = 5×3 : 1×3 = 15 : 3

⇒ Sakshi : Mayank = 3×1 : 5×1 = 3 : 5

⇒ Suman : Sakshi : Mayank = 15 : 3 : 5

The ratio of profit distribution will be same as ratio of  investment.

⇒ Profit ratio = 15 : 3 : 5

According to the question,

⇒ 15 + 3 + 5 = 23,000

⇒ 23 = 23,000

⇒ 1 = 1,000

Sakshi's share = 3 =  3 × 1000 = Rs.3,000

∴ Sakshi's income is Rs. 3,000.
