Niacin (vitamin B-3) deficiency is characterized by diarrhea, dementia and skin disorder. Carbohydrate Malabsorption is characterized by watery diarrhea with dehydration and acidosis. Malnutrition is characterized by low energy levels, short stature, and swollen legs and stomach. Fluorosis is characterized by dental caries. Scurvy is characterized by tooth loss, blood sores, scaly dry and brownish skin. Goiter is characterized by swelling at the base of the neck, hoarseness, coughing.
