The larger of two supplementary angles exceeds the smaller by 58°, then find the angles.

Let supplementary angles be x and y. 

x = y + 58° ⇒ x — y = 58° ……….. (1)

∵ x + y = 180° ……………(2) 

By solving (1) and (2)

∴ x = 119° and y = 180°- 119° – 61° 

∴ The angles are 119° and 61°.
