Correct option is (a) 12

In 100 g of oxide, wt. of metal = 60 g

Weight of oxygen = 100 - 60 = 40 g

Weight of metal combining with 8 g (Eq. wt.) of oxygen = \(\frac{60}{40}\) x 8 = 12 g
